Animal Osteopathic Continuing Education Accreditation Council(AOCEAC)

To remain an active registrant in good standing, you must maintain and submit your Continuing Education (CE) hours with your annual registration payment.

CE Requirements (annually):
• Minimum 30 CE points per year; excess points can be carried over, subject to approval by the Animal Osteopathic Continuing Education Accreditation Council (AOCEAC).

Approved CE Activities (effective January 1, 2026):

​

  • Postgraduate courses through accredited institutions (2x points per hour)

  • Revisiting modules through accredited institutions (1 point per hour)

  • Case Studies
    Submit a well-supported, in-depth case study written according to REDOI guidelines (available in the Members section of our website).
    • Each case study is reviewed by the AOCEAC. 
    • CE points are awarded per approved case study, up to 30 points. 

  • Peer Collaboration Days
    Participate in collaborative professional days with other registered EDOs (submission form available in the Members section of our website).

• Each case study is reviewed by the AOCEAC.
• CE points are awarded per hour, up to 10 points per day.

  • Postgraduate Thesis 

If you are preparing a postgraduate thesis approved by the AOCEAC, you can be exempt from your annual requirement for 30 CE points for one or more years (subject to approval by the AOCEAC). 

​

  • WAEO annual conference
    Attend the Worldwide Alliance of Equine Osteopaths (WAEO) conference. Points are determined yearly. 

  • Other conferences and courses
    Attendance at conferences and courses may qualify for CE points.  Submit each course or conference (with an explanation of osteopathic relevance) to the AOCEAC for evaluation. CE points may be awarded up to 1 point per hour.
